I grew up in north Idaho, the fourth daughter of European immigrants. I moved to Washington in the late 70’s and entered a period of having babies and attending school.
I graduated from Western Washington University as a single Mom with two daughters, and from the University of Washington School of Medicine with the addition of a son.
Shortly after graduating from a U.W. family medicine residency, I adopted three Russian children over a period of five years. My wonderful kids now span 9 to 28, and I have a beautiful 6 year-old grandson. My family is the joy and center of my life.
I am an avid reader, dabble in writing and painting, and love being outdoors. I live on Vashon Island, a green utopia with excellent tree climbing and beach walking opportunities. I am committed to international health, saving our mother Earth, eliminating poverty, making peace a way of life, celebrating diversity and respecting and protecting animals.
