Together, we are an ocean.

Suzanne Fiala, M.D. on the Practice of Medicine

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that ideal medical care is a partnership between doctor and patient.  My job is to educate and inform, to treat disease and do my best to help patients prevent disease.  I strongly believe in integrated medical care. By this I mean offering the patient the best that various medical belief systems have to offer.  I work collaboratively with acupuncturists, naturopaths, massage therapists, mental health therapists and chiropractors in providing the patient with what I believe is the best of all worlds.

Many doctors today are little more than ‘body mechanics,’approaching the patient as a machine that needs tuning.  We are so much more than our physical bodies, and the interactions of mind, psyche, spirit and physical form are profound and powerful.  I honor the complexities of what makes us human, and what factors affect our health.

I truly feel privileged to be a physician and play a part in the lives of my patients. I consider my medical practice as a way to give back, to contribute something positive to the world we all share.
